The duo takes forward their partnership into the electric mobility era with similar products
The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV has finally been revealed. It is the Suzuki e Vitara counterpart under their collaboration. Note that the two Japanese auto giants share products and technology in many parts of the world. Now, it has become clear that this practice will even continue into the electric age.
Even though Toyota already has an EV lineup, the e Vitara will be Suzuki’s first-ever EV. As a consequence, we will even have its Toyota counterpart. Note that the EV will be showcased in a few days at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show in early January. The launch is initially slated for Europe in the second half of next year. Let us delve deep into the specifics of the electric SUV.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Revealed – Specs
Since it is, essentially, a Suzuki in disguise, it utilizes the new HEARTECT-e platform with two battery pack options – a 49 kWh or a 61 kWh. The maximum power and torque outputs range from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD). We still have to wait to know the range of these EVs.
Nevertheless, it is clear that the two will use Suzuki’s trademark ALLGRIP-e technology by distributing torque where it is needed the most. While the exact range figures are not out yet, we know that the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will get an energy-saving heat pump for the A/C and a manually activated battery pre-heating function – ideal for colder climates.

Exterior Styling
On the outside, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV carries the butch stance of the Suzuki e Vitara quite confidently. However, the front fascia is unique to the Urban Cruiser. It contains a solid chrome slab between the sleek LED headlamps. There is a slim grille section which is sealed off since it is an EV. Down below, I appreciate the air-intakes on the extreme edges of the bumper along with a massive black element in the lower half of the bumper.
On the sides, the EV gets a dual-tone theme with a black roof and side pillars in addition to the chunky wheel arches and side body skirtings. The dark alloy wheels also add to the overall imposing demeanour of the electric SUV. At the rear, it boasts an LED light bar which culminates into the LED taillamps, a shark fin antenna, a rugged rear bumper with a skid plate, etc. All in all, the EV definitely bears a muscular stance.
