The new user experience interface will make interacting with your Volvo car more intuitive and enjoyable
All Volvo cars in the U.S. will now be available with the next-generation user experience, Volvo Car UX. All modern cars, particularly the EVs, need an interactive system, ensuring the utmost level of convenience and connectivity for the users. As we move forward, EVs are becoming software-defined cars. In such scenarios, tech and software play a key role in defining the user experience.

All Volvo Cars To Get Next-Generation User Experience
In an official press release, the Geely-owned Swedish car marque confirmed that, “For the 2026 model year, every new Volvo car will come equipped with our next-generation user experience, Volvo Car UX”. Note that this UX is already on offer in the EX90, EX30, and new XC90.
However, in 2025, Volvo will deliver this to existing car users via Google built-in through an over-the-air software update. Interestingly, this includes around 2.5 million customers globally with cars that were built as early as 2020. Apart from that, there is also the introduction of the next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies.
This enhancement makes the Google Android Automotive-based infotainment system more than twice as fast as outgoing models, with graphics generation up to 10 times faster. As a consequence, the infotainment system is much more responsive. Already available on the EX90 and EX30, this upgrade will expand to the entire 2026 Volvo Cars lineup.
Finally, Adaptive Cruise Control will now be standard across the entire U.S. lineup. Also, the XC40 is now available in the Black Edition styling option. Volvo Cars also introduced two new exterior colors – Forest Lake and Aurora Silver. Additional information on the 2026 model year updates will be released in the coming months.
Refreshed 2026 Volvo XC60
The press release even mentioned some key updates to the popular XC60 for the 2026 model year. The interior will feature a larger 11.2-inch free-standing center screen, which boasts 21% higher pixel density than the outgoing models. Other bits incorporate smart storage, new cupholders, an improved wireless phone charger, fresh interior decors, inlays and upholsteries like Quilted Nordico and Navy Herringbone Weave. On the outside, there is a new air intake, just like on the new XC90.
