Audi Q4 e-tron Gets A New Entry-Level High-Range Trim

The German car marque has expanded the variant offerings of one of its most successful EVs

The Audi Q4 e-tron has received a new entry-level trim to access a wider range of potential customers. The e-tron portfolio of the German luxury auto giant is aiding the brand to make a transition from the ICE to the electric age. The Q4 e-tron is the most affordable electric SUV on sale today. In fact, last year, Audi delivered an impressive 100,000 units of this compact SUV. This was the only saving grace in an otherwise awful year for Audi in terms of overall sales.

Audi Q4 e-tron Gets A New Trim

The Audi Q4 40 e-tron will sit at the beginning of the variants list for this year. In Germany, it will set the buyers back by €46,150 ($47,900). Note that the Q4 45 e-tron goes for a much higher €52,950 ($54,900). However, we must bear in mind that the latter possesses a larger 82 kWh battery pack, while the new Q4 40 e-tron uses a smaller 63 kWh unit. If you want, there is also a Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron guise which bears a price tag of €48,150 ($49,900).

As anticipated, the Q4 40 e-tron will offer a single-motor RWD configuration which is good for 204 PS (150 kW) of maximum power. Nevertheless, it is no slouch and Audi claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of just 8.1 seconds. Additionally, the top speed is rated at 160 km/h (99 mph). However, the biggest attraction is a range of 263 miles (424 km) on a single charge.

The potential buyers will be happy to note that there is the option of a 165 kW DC fast charger which can juice up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. That is quite handy if you have to stop at highways during a long trip. More importantly, you can replenish 155 km (96 miles) of range in just 10 minutes. Furthermore, the drivers can also manually enable battery preconditioning. All in all, there are enough incentives in this new entry-level variant to woo new customers.
