The Porsche Macan EV adds a new base RWD trim to its portfolio in addition to a mid-spec 4S variant. The performance electric SUV is one of the most successful from the German car marque. In order to access a wider range of potential customers, these two new versions have been added. Apart from that, every variant can now be jazzed up with an optional off-road design package.

Porsche Macan EV Gets RWD and 4S Trims
This new RWD avatar utilizes a single motor for propulsion. There is still a large 100 kWh battery pack powering the SUV. The final power output is 335 hp (250 kW) or up to 355 hp (265 kW) and 563 Nm (415 lb-ft) of torque with the over-boost function. Despite a relatively subtler configuration, the acceleration from 0 to 97 kmph (60 mph) comes up in just 5.4 seconds. The top speed is a decent 219 kmph (136 mph).
The other 4S trim positions itself between the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. It gets a dual-motor AWD configuration which delivers a healthy 442 hp (330 kW) or 509 hp (380 kW) and 784 Nm (578 lb-ft) of torque with the over-boost function. This time around, the 0-97 kmph (60 mph) sprint comes up in a mere 3.9 seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 240 kmph (149 mph). Note that the entire range benefits from the 800-volt PPE architecture enabling 270 kW DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.

Off-Road Package
Apart from the new variants, the buyers even get an option to toughen up their Macan EVs with an optional off-road package across the range. The kit includes a tweaked front bumper, matching side skirtings and a diffuser. To elevate the sturdy appearance, you can get body-colored or contrasting Vesuvius Grey skid plates. This grey shade can also be clubbed with new 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.
However, the off-roading package is not limited to aesthetic alterations. There are some mechanical benefits as well. This includes raised ride height by 10 mm (0.4 inches) due to the air suspension. This takes the total ground clearance range between 195 mm (7.6 inches) and 225 mm (8.8 inches). Even the approach angle is now 17.5 degrees ensuring that you don’t scrape the underbelly of the electric SUV. Even the Porsche Driver Experience digital cockpit receives updates with new graphics and animations for the screen. One could tweak the background color and ambient lighting to match the exterior paint of the car.
