2026 Kia EV4 Makes Debut At 2025 New York Auto Show

The EV4 marks Kia’s first all-electric global sedan, and the sales are slated to commence in the U.S. by early next year (2026)

The 2026 Kia EV4 has finally been unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. Even though the sedan iteration of the EV was showcased, there will also be a hatchback version on sale. Nevertheless, the electric sedan will be manufactured at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea. There will be three trims on offer – Light, Wind and GT-Line. It will go on sale in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2026.

2026 Kia EV4 Makes Debut

Kia’s first global EV sedan will use a 400-volt E-GMP architecture, which is something we know from other Hyundai and Kia EVs. Moreover, we will even witness the ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. At the front, it gets the signature Star Map lighting with small cube LED headlamps with Dynamic Welcome Lights and the new interpretation of Kia’s Tiger Face pattern. At the rear, it boasts vertical LED taillamps, a two-piece roof spoiler, 17-inch or 19-inch wheel options and a sporty stance.

2026 Kia EV4 – Specs

The 2026 Kia EV4 will be available with two battery pack options – 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh. The former will power the Light variant, while the larger battery will propel Wind and GT-Line trims. In both iterations, the electric sedan will draw power from a front-mounted 150 kW electric motor. The EPA-est. range is 235 miles (378 km) and 330 miles (531 km), respectively. Airflow enhancements include a full underbody cover to help the movement of air beneath the vehicle.

The result is a drag coefficient as low as 0.23 Cd. Furthermore, the DC fast charging will result in a charging time of 29 minutes and 31 minutes for 10% to 80% with the smaller and bigger battery, respectively. Perhaps the most crucial aspect of charging will be the accessibility to the standard NACS charging network. The advanced chassis engineering aims at delivering a high level of ride comfort and refinement as well as engaging driving dynamics. More details will emerge at the launch.
