While most EV players are heading toward efficiency, and for the right reasons, Abarth has gone in the opposite direction revealing its 500e hot hatch recently. Now, with electric powertrains, the convention is to maximize the range. However, one must not forget that EVs have an inherent trait of instant torque as well.

Interior and Features
Just like the dimensions, the interior layout of the Abarth 500e resembles the Fiat 500 Electric. However, there are tons of customisation options. In the regular trims, the 500e comes with a large 10.25-inch Touchscreen Display with Uconnet, a 7-inch Driver’s Instrument Cluster, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Driving Modes (Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track), Alcantara Upholstery, a Sound Generator to mimic the exhaust note of the ICE-powered version, Premium Audio System, ADAS Functions (Autonomous Emergency Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Traffic Sign Information, Urban Blind Spot, Cruise Control and E-call assist) and more.
Expected Price and Deliveries
With commercialization plans in February 2023, we can expect the hot hatch to arrive at the dealerships for deliveries sometime in mid-2023. Considering the prices to be significantly higher than the regular Fiat 500 Electric, one must be prepared to shell out around £35,000 (approx $42,100 US) for this compact EV.
