Fastest Mercedes AMG Will Be Electric

As per the information on Autocar, a company insider remarked, “Where the EQXX aimed to go the furthest, this aims to go the fastest. It will be the fastest-accelerating car AMG has ever produced.” When talking about the design, he confirmed that the concept is “not a million miles away” from the One-Eleven. That indicates a retro theme with modern elements.

Since Mercedes AMG is claiming this concept to be the fastest accelerating EV in its stable, it is possible that the supercar will use a solid-state battery. We already know that it has commenced testing this battery on an EQS prototype a few days ago. In addition to that, the German carmaker will also showcase AMG’s next-generation electric powertrain. This includes axial flux electric motors which are smaller and more powerful than the ones currently in use.

Moreover, the high-voltage 800-volt platform with four electric motors can be the preferred choice. At present, the AMG One is the fastest Mercedes ever. It boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a V6 engine to generate a mammoth 1,049 hp of maximum power. This propels the stunning sedan from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds. The upcoming Mercedes AMG electric supercar could post a time close to 2 seconds.
