This Christmas gift is valid for models including 2024 or earlier Kona Electric, Ioniq hatchback, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. This covers almost the entire range of existing Hyundai EV owners. The customers need to log into the MyHyundai portal and simply request from the first quarter of 2025. The Korean automaker will ship the adapter without any charges. In the future, you can even purchase these adapters separately from Hyundai dealers.

Note that the NACS adapter is not just limited to Hyundai but also extends to Kia and Genesis. Remember, Kia America already announced this program in the fall. The EV6 and EV9 owners will get their adapters in early 2025 (perhaps around January 15). On the other hand, Genesis has also confirmed its participation in this program. They will come out with the details in the coming months. Their models to benefit from this scheme are GV60, electrified GV70 and G80.

Olabisi Boyle, Senior Vice President of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, remarked, “These adapters will make DC fast-charging more convenient for current owners. Plus, the NACS port on new models like the upcoming Ioniq 9 along with improvements to our digital charging ecosystem, will further enhance the customer experience for future EV drivers.”
