Kia EV4 Officially Unveiled
The Korean car marque confirmed that the EV4 will come to the U.S. Kia is calling it an “athletic all-rounder launched to redefine the C-segment”. In the sedan guise, the boot space is 490 litres, while it reduces slightly to 435 litres in the hatchback form. There are two battery pack alternatives – 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh. The claimed range figures are 630 km (393 miles) and 430 km (267 miles) on the WLTP cycle, respectively. Due to the full underbody cover, the drag coefficient is 0.23 Cd.
The front-mounted 150 kW motor allows a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of just 7.4 seconds with the smaller battery and 7.7 seconds with the larger unit. The top speed is a healthy 170 km/h (106 mph). To keep the costs in check, the EV duo utilizes a 400-volt E-GMP architecture. This allows a charge time from 10% to 80% of just 29 minutes for the smaller battery. Other key amenities include V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and an 11 kW onboard charger.
