Kia EV6 GT Facelift Spied

Kia EV6 GT Facelift To Borrow Elements From Hyundai IONIQ 5 N

The new Kia EV6 has been revealed in Korea and the much more powerful iteration will arrive by the end of the year.

The Kia EV6 GT facelift is slated to be even more immersive and engaging than its current iteration. It is notably among the most affordable supercars on sale today. When you consider the kind of performance it offers at this price point, there is hardly any rival. Going forward, the fire-breathing Korean monster is about to get even more compelling. Interestingly, the facelift version of the regular Kia EV6 is already out in Korea without a price change. The launch will take place next month. Based on that, the EV6 GT will surface later this year.

The facelift iteration of the popular electric car will get the virtual transmission system (e-shift) from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. This induces sounds and effects which give the feeling of actual gear shifts to the drivers just like on an ICE car. It certainly makes the entire driving experience more engaging. In fact, that is what many car experts love about the Ioniq 5 N. Therefore, now even the Kia EV6 GT will get that feature.

Apart from that, the facelift EV6 gets some aesthetic enhancements as well. These include things like Star Map lighting for DRLs at the front, as well as for the headlamps and taillamps. Also, the GT-Line trim now offers sporty front and rear bumpers along with a new front LED center positioning lamp. On the inside, the new EV6 boasts Kia’s ccNC infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and OTA capabilities along with new streaming abilities.

The new Kia EV6 draws power from the 4th generation 84 kWh battery pack which offers a range of 494 km (307 miles) on a single charge. This is possible with the Long Range 2WD variant with 19-inch wheels. The charging from 10% to 80% just takes 18 minutes using a 350 kW DC ultra-fast charger. The most powerful iteration generates 576 hp and 739 Nm (545 lb-ft) of maximum power and torque. This propels the sports EV from 0 to 97 kmph (60 mph) in a mere 3.4 seconds. That is legit supercar territory. The 2024 Kia EV6 GT starts at an enticing $61,600. That is a fraction of what other legacy supercar makers charge for this kind of performance.

Hyundai and Kia are emerging as prominent players in the EV revolution. They offer unique products in performance, mass-market and affordable EV segments. In fact, the current and future models are inclined more towards affordable electric cars to increase their market share even further. This makes them the companies to watch out for as more nations join the EV revolution. I am admittedly excited about the upcoming electric cars from these two Korean giants (which are essentially just one).
