The list of auto giants enabling their EVs to use the Tesla Supercharger network is getting longer and longer
Mercedes is the newest car marque to gain access to the Tesla Superchargers across North America. The German car marque had announced that it will be ready with this compatibility for its EVs starting in February. It has delivered on that promise as its electric car models can now get replenished at over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger stalls across the continent.

Mercedes Gets Access To Tesla Superchargers
At the moment, Mercedes EV owners will need a NACS to CCS1 adapter to use the Tesla Superchargers. As a consequence, the German legacy car marque is offering a Lectron-made adapter at the dealership. It costs a reasonable $185. Interestingly, if you go directly to Lectron, it will set you back by $199.99. That is something you should keep in mind.
Furthermore, the compatible Tesla Supercharger stalls have been included in the Mercedes-Benz smartphone app. Hence, owners will be able to use the charger directly without the need to install additional apps or tweak the settings. With the Plug & Charge functionality, Mercedes EV owners can communicate with stalls without any input from the driver. If your EV doesn’t support this feature, you can visit the dealership for a software update.
Without Plug & Charge, the charging session will need to be started and stopped via the smartphone app since the Tesla Supercharger stalls don’t possess displays or buttons. Apart from Tesla Superchargers, Mercedes has integrated other charging providers into the app as well. These include the likes of Electrified America, Ionna, EVgo and ChargePoint. All in all, over 110,000 public charging points across North America will be available for Mercedes EV owners.

Learn Electric Cars Says
The Tesla Supercharger network is widely considered the best in the industry. Because of this, many other car companies have teamed up with Tesla. It is also the most widely spread. This partnership aims to make owning an electric car easier and more appealing. When there are more charging stations available, people who own electric cars won’t worry as much about running out of power.
This could encourage more people to buy electric cars. Some of the major carmakers to already be eligible for charging at Tesla Superchargers are Volvo, Ford, Hyundai, General Motors, Rivian, Kia and Hyundai. Let us see if this collaboration boosts demand for Mercedes EVs.
