The all-electric compact sedan will be available in two variants – CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4MATIC
The new 2026 Mercedes CLA EV has finally been revealed. It bears tons of new-age elements including the aesthetics on the outside, as well as new tech on the inside. The German luxury carmaker claims that the electric sedan offers more of just about everything – space, refinement, comfort, intelligence and efficiency. The latter is possible due to the 800-volt architecture derived from the VISION EQXX concept.

2026 Mercedes CLA EV – Specs
The EV will be on offer in two trims – 250+ and 350 4MATIC. Initially, the electric sedan will offer a single battery pack option, an 85 kWh unit. It is good for an impressive 492 miles (250+) and 479 miles (350 4MATIC) of range on a single charge. These are preliminary estimates based on WLTP cycle. Also, the 250+ gets a single permanently excited synchronous motor on the rear axle for an output of 268 hp and 247 lb-ft, while the 350 4MATIC carries two motors for 349 hp and 380 lb-ft of maximum power and torque, respectively.
Performing the charging duties is a 320 kW DC fast charger which allows to recover a range of 201 miles (250+) and 195 miles (350 4MATIC) in just 10 minutes. Furthermore, the advanced electric drive unit with high-efficiency two-speed transmission enables a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration in just 6.6 seconds (250+) and 4.8 seconds (350 4MATIC). The top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph (209 km/h). Contributing to performance and efficiency is the impressive drag coefficient of 0.21.

2026 Mercedes CLA EV – Design
One of the key highlights of the 2026 Mercedes CLA EV is the exterior styling. This is especially true with the front fascia. It boasts a unique panel between the multibeam LED headlamps (with LED DRL signature in the form of Mercedes star logo). This panel consists of 142 individual mini stars which would look unmistakably Mercedes CLA in the rear view mirror of the vehicle ahead. The side profile carries a few chrome embellishments including on the flush-fitting door handles and around the windows. The Mercedes star signature light continues at the rear as well.

Dimensions and Storage
The new 2026 Mercedes CLA EV is a bit larger than the previous CLA models. This time around, it measures 185.9 inches (4,722 mm) in length (1.6 inches / 41 mm longer) and 109.8 inches (2,789 mm) in wheelbase. This results in more legroom, while the rear legroom is 33.6 inches (853 mm). On the other hand, the frunk has a capacity of 2.5 cubic feet (71 litres), while the main luggage compartment is 14.3 cubic feet (405 litres) in volume.
