The electric SUV shares powertrain and platform with the VW ID.4
The new Skoda Elroq vRS takes the title of the fastest Skoda production car ever. The Czech car marque shared the details of the electric SUV recently. For the uninitiated, vRS is the performance division for Skoda electric cars. We have seen performance-focused models from Skoda wear the iconic RS badge. Taking that tradition into the electric era is the vRS moniker.

New Skoda Elroq vRS
Skoda’s fastest-accelerating electric SUV generates a considerable 335 hp (250 kW) of maximum power courtesy of a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. Furthermore, it uses the MEB architecture. Both these also power the VW ID.4. This powertrain enables a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 5.4 seconds. This is minutely faster than the larger Enyaq vRS.
I understand that this might not be all that impressive when compared to other modern performance EVs. Still, for Skoda, this is the best it has to offer. With the 79 kWh battery, the Czech auto giant claims a range of 547 km (340 miles) on a single charge. This is 32 km (20 miles) less than the regular Elroq 85 variant. Nevertheless, the Elroq vRS gets 185 kW DC charging (more than other trims). This allows a 10-80% charging time of just 26 minutes.

On the outside, there are minor changes to distinguish it from the regular Elroq. These include sporty black inserts on the mirror, badges, window trim and 21-inch wheels. As a matter of fact, Skoda has even equipped the electric SUV with a synthesized soundtrack for that added feel. On the inside, you get the Suedia microfibre upholstery, lime green contrasting stitching, carbon-effect components, perforated leather steering wheels, sporty seats with massage option and much more.
