The iconic Dodge Charger Daytona nameplate has been metamorphosized into a future-proof electric car with impressive performance specifications.
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV finally arrives with a few surprises. While we knew that it would bear an electric heart this time around, we didn’t expect it to carry a traditional IC inline-6 engine. Apart from that, it features a familiar resemblance with the vintage Daytona of the era gone by. However, Dodge has ensured that it remains in touch with the latest design and styling trends. Hence, it belongs to the current age, while oozing the charm of the year years.

2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV – Specs
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV comes in two variants – R/T and Scat Pack. The electric muscle car is built on the STLA Large platform. This is the top-end electric architecture from Stellantis. It allows the Daytona EV to contain a colossal 100.5 kWh battery pack (93.9 kWh usable) which powers two electric motors for an all-wheel-drive configuration. In the Scat Pack trim, there is a mechanical limited-slip differential at the rear to allow the owners to go for some sumptuous donuts.
The R/T version produces a decent 496 hp (370 kW) and 548 Nm (404 lb-ft) of peak power and torque using a standard Stage 1 kit worth 40 hp. This propels the electric retro car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 4.7 seconds. On the other hand, the performance-focused Scat Pack with Stage 2 upgrade worth 80 hp generates a spine-chilling 670 hp (500 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of peak power and torque. This results in a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) sprint in just 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds. The driver will be able to unlock these figures by pressing the Power Shot button on the steering wheel to add a 40-hp boost for 15 seconds at a time.
The top speeds of R/T and Scat Pack are 137 mph (221 km/h) and 134 mph (216 km/h), respectively. Also, the R/T offers a decent range of 317 miles (510 km), while the Scat Pack is good for 260 miles (418 km) on a single charge. Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be juiced up from 5% to 80% in just 32.5 minutes.

Learn Electric Cars Says
The future of mobility is electric and vintage muscle cars adopting an electric powertrain is a testament to that belief. However, the fact that Dodge is offering the Charger with an internal combustion engine is also a sign that it is not time to go all-out on electrification just yet. Many reports are floating around on the internet which suggest that the demand for EVs has gone down. Furthermore, most targets set by carmakers for the end of the decades might fall short. Hence, having the option for an ICE-powered Dodge Charger is open.
