We already know that the 2025 BMW iX xDrive50 trim has now been replaced with the xDrive60. Last month, the German car marque claimed that this variant offers a range of 340 miles (547 km) on a single charge, up from 309 miles (497 km) with the xDrive50. However, if you go to the online configurator for the 2026 model, it displays a range of an impressive 365 miles (586 km) with the 20-inch wheels. Now, that is a major bump in how far you can drive on a single charge.

Furthermore, if you are someone who wants to maximize the range from the electric SUV, the 20-inch Aero Frozen Dark Grey 1002 wheels with summer tires will be your best bet. Note that there are options of 21-inch, 22-inch and 23-inch wheels which decrease the range figures correspondingly. With the latter, the range drops to just 318 miles (512 km) on a single charge. That is a common occurrence with all EVs.

The base xDrive45 trim carries two electric motors for a power output of 402 hp. This allows a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration time of just 4.9 seconds. Thereafter, we have the xDrive60 variant which makes 536 hp. Finally, the top-of-the-line M70 version churns out a colossal 650 hp of maximum power with an acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds to go from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h). Also, it boasts a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The 2026 BMW iX facelift will undergo production at the company’s Dingolfing plant in Germany in March 2025. The deliveries are slated to commence in the second quarter of this year. In terms of pricing, the new xDrive45 trim starts at $75,100 MSRP. The xDrive60 bears a price tag of $88,500 MSRP and the M70 retails for $111,500 MSRP. All these prices are excluding the $1,175 destination and handling fee.

Now, BMW has come up with some key enhancements to the 2026 iX lineup. What I particularly appreciate about this model is the fact that there are aesthetic, as well as performance improvements. For instance, increased range is something that is the most important aspect for EV buyers. To work on that is definitely going to entice more customers once the deliveries commence from the second quarter of this year.
