Zeekr has launched its second luxury electric vehicle, the 009 Minivan with an MPV body style after the 001 station wagon. The Zeekr 009 Minivan (MPV) has been launched in the Chinese market. Zeekr is a premium Chinese car marque under the ownership of Geely Automobile Holdings which also owns Volvo, Polestar and Lotus. Founded in 2021, Zeekr is known for its battery-powered vehicles. Geely’s approach to electric cars comes from the growing competition against Tesla and Nio. Zeekr 009 and 001 are based on Geely’s SEA platform. It is designed at Zeekr’s design centre (Gothenburg, Sweden) by the team led by a former designer at Audi, Stefan Sielaff. Hyundai is planning to pre-pone the launch of its flagship 7-seat SUV, the Ioniq 7 for the second half of 2023 in contrast to 2024, which was the target earlier. The 3-row Hyundai Ioniq 7 will be the next prominent EV from the Korean carmaker after the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. With production planned from 2023 onwards, local manufacturing in the USA is aimed to commence in 2025. The production version will be based on the company’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The Ioniq 7 could be treated as the electric version of its popular Palisade large SUV. XPeng is preparing to revolutionize the EV industry by launching the luxurious G9, which they are calling the fastest charging electric SUV in the world. The G9 is based on the 800 V architecture and has the company’s latest charging capability of 480 kW allowing to charge the EV to get 124 miles (200 km) range in mere 5 mins.
