Polestar 3 Electric SUV – Specs, Range, Price & Features

Polestar 3 is the first electric SUV from the Swedish carmaker and its production is planned in two continents – Asia and North America.

The Polestar 3 is a 5-seat electric SUV and we take a look at its details in terms of price, range, features and more. It will be the second mass-produced EV from the Swedish carmaker after the Polestar 2. The production of the Polestar 3 will commence in Chengdu, China from mid-2023. Thereafter, the manufacturing will begin in Volvo Cars’ Ridgeville, South Carolina facility around mid-2024.

Polestar 3 Specs

The electric SUV will come in two AWD variants – Long Range Dual Motor and Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack. It will be powered by a 400 V 111 kWh Li-ion battery (108 kWh usable) supplying power to 2 electric motors (one at each axle). The total system output will be a colossal 517 hp and 910 Nm (with the Performance Pack). Despite weighing over 2.6 tons, the claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time is just 4.6 secs. The EPA-estimated range is 300 miles (483 km).

Since it focuses on performance and driveability, the EV has Aluminium Front and Rear Axles, a Drag Coefficient of 0.29, Brembo Performance Brakes with Brake-by-Wire Technology, Active Air Suspension, Double Wishbone Front Suspension and Integral Link Rear Suspension, 22-inch 4-Multi Spoke Black Polished Forged Alloy Wheels, 3-year/36,000 miles (58,000 km) vehicle warranty, 8-year/100,000 miles (161,000 km) battery warranty and 12-year corrosion warranty.

The price of the regular Long Range Dual-Motor version in the U.S. is $83,900 (MSRP), while the version with the Performance Pack costs $89,900 (MSRP). In the UK, these prices are £79,900 and £85,500 respectively. It will be interesting to see how well the Polestar 3 is received by the public with such price, range and specs figures.
