The widely anticipated 3-row 7-seat flagship electric SUV from Hyundai has finally been unveiled
Hyundai has finally taken the wraps off the Ioniq 9 electric SUV. It will be the flagship product in Hyundai’s global lineup. It is a major milestone in the company’s plan to launch 23 EV models by 2030. The swiveling second-row seats and massaging seats point to an ultra-luxurious cabin to woo customers. The electric SUV will go on sale in South Korea and the U.S. in the first half of 2025, followed by European and other markets.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 Electric SUV – Specs
Using the familiar E-GMP architecture, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes with a 110.3 kWh (gross) battery pack in two avatars – Long-Range (RWD & AWD) and Performance (AWD). In the Long-Range lineup, the power and torque figures range from 160 kW (217 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) to 230 kW (313 PS) and 700 Nm. Taking things a notch higher, the Performance trim outputs 320 kW (435 PS) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of maximum power and torque, respectively. It boasts an impressive EPA-est. range of 335 miles (539 km) (Long-Range RWD w/ 19-inch wheels). The WLTP range is 385 miles (620 km).
With a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery juices up in just 24 minutes from 10% to 80%. The EV even supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and 400-volt / 800-volt multi-charging capabilities. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) comes up in a mere 5.2 seconds in the Performance trim, 6.7 seconds in the Long-Range AWD version and 9.4 seconds in the Long-Range RWD variant. It has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg). There are 19-inch, 20-inch and 21-inch wheel options to choose from. The drag coefficient is 0.269 Cd.

There are 16 color options to choose between including Celadon Gray Matte, Celadon Gray Metallic, Ionosphere Green Pearl, Sunset Brown Pearl and Cosmic Blue Pearl. The cabin can be bought in either of six unique two-tone options.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 was being teased and spied for a long time. But now that the Korean auto giant has unveiled it, it is clear that it wants to one-up even its sibling, the Kia EV9. We see varied powertrain options, myriads of modern tech and convenience amenities, ultra-modern in-cabin facilities like the swiveling second-row seats to interact with people in the third row and more. Clearly, Hyundai has brought its best game out to ensure that the Ioniq 9 goes on to be as successful, or even more, as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.
