The Polestar 3 will rival the likes of the BMW iX, Porsche Macan Electric and Jaguar I-Pace.
The production of the Polestar 3 electric SUV has commenced in the South Carolina plant in the U.S. Note that this will be the brand’s first EV to churn out of an American factory. It will have a starting price of $73,400 MSRP for the Long Range Dual Motor trim, which will stretch up to $84,900 MSRP for the Long Range Dual Motor with Pilot, Plus and Performance Pack. It will be interesting to see if its top variant qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit since it is not applicable on cars over $80,000.

Long Range Dual Motor w/Pilot and Plus Pack | $78,900 |

The dual-motor variants possess a 111 kWh battery pack with two electric motors. This results in a rather healthy 489 hp and 840 Nm (620 lb-ft) of peak power and torque. Owners will be able to squeeze around 507 km (315 miles) of range on a single charge. The higher trims with Pilot, Plus and Performance Pack generate an even more impressive 517 hp and 910 Nm (671 lb-ft) of maximum power and torque.
The range drops down to 449 km (279 miles). It enables a 0-97 kmph (60 mph) acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds. The rim sizes vary from 20-inchers to 22-inchers. Using a 250 kW DC faster charger, the battery can be juiced up from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. The standard 11 kW AC charger takes 11 hours to go from 0 to 100%.

Polestar 3 will be the debutant for the Chinese-owned luxury arm of Volvo in the U.S. In fact, this will make it the first Polestar EV to be in production on two different continents at the same time. With the U.S.-made models, the exports will even reach Europe. Therefore, the plans for expansion for Polestar are coming through. It will even get rid of the tag of being manufactured in China. That is critical since the West has been critical of Chinese-made EVs by imposing heavy tariffs on them. Let us see how well the Americans embrace the Polestar 3.
