Problems with Tesla EV Charging Stations

Volvo EVs Can Now Access Tesla Supercharger Network

Not just Volvo, but Polestar EV owners can also charge their vehicles at a Tesla Supercharging station in the U.S. and Canada

In the latest update, Volvo EVs will now be able to utilize over 17,800 points from the Tesla Supercharger network in the U.S. and Canada. With this, Volvo becomes yet another car marque to adopt the NACS ports. Tesla’s Supercharging network is a benchmark when it comes to EV charging infrastructure. With a massive presence across North America, EV owners from other brands get peace of mind knowing that a charging station is just around the corner. In the greater scheme of things, it will aid mass EV adoption.

Volvo EVs Can Now Access Tesla Supercharger Network

As a part of this development, the current Volvo EV owners can now purchase a NACS adapter at their nearest dealership at a price of $230. The deliveries are slated to commence from November 18. One key aspect to remember is that the adapter for the popular EX30 will arrive later. Interestingly, the 2025 range of Volvo EVs will already come fitted with the NACS adapter from the factory.

Now, to charge electric cars at the Tesla Supercharger network, owners will need the Tesla application on their smartphones. It will help them locate the charging stations and show related information. In addition to Volvo, even the Polestar EV owners can now plug-in their cars at Tesla charging stations. With this, these two Chinese-owner Swedish car giants become part of Tesla’s charging network just like Rivian, Ford, Hyundai and General Motors.

Speaking on this occasion, the President of Volvo Car USA and Canada, Mike Cottone, remarked, “As part of our journey to electrification, we want to make life with an electric car, including our new flagship EX90, as seamless as possible. Today we are taking a major step to providing access to easy and convenient charging infrastructure for Volvo drivers in the United States and Canada, furthering our commitment to EV adoption.”
