The Swedish carmaker has introduced a rugged iteration of its popular EX30 compact electric SUV
The Volvo EX30 Cross Country has been launched to cater to the occasional off-roading aficionados. Note that the EX30 holds the distinction of becoming the first Volvo EV to wear the iconic Cross Country badge. You must remember that the Geely-owner Swedish auto giant introduced this badge over a couple of decades ago. The aim was to offer a sturdy and butch iteration of a regular SUV.

Volvo EX30 Cross Country Launched
There are some handy updates to the electric SUV to make it more than just an aesthetic improvement. For instance, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country boasts 19-inch alloys standard with the option of selecting 18 inchers with off-road rubber with the ‘Cross Country Experience’ package, increased ground clearance, protective skid plates, black plastic arch extensions, a black panel across the back and nose, Cross Country readout on C-pillar, front and rear mud flaps, black load carriers and a roof basket.
You will agree that these are not merely cosmetic enhancements. In fact, these are critical to accentuate its off-roading performance. The electric SUV in this adventurous guise continues to draw power from a 69 kWh battery pack. In this avatar, the range is down from 280 miles (450 km) to 265 miles (427 km) on a single charge.
Also, the only mill with this version is the dual-motor AWD which is good for 428 PS (315 kW) of maximum power. This propels the EV from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a brisk 3.7 seconds. Depending on the demand, we might even see the more affordable single-motor 272 hp (200 kW) configuration. This new iteration of the Volvo EX30 will bear a slight premium over the $47,895 price tag of the regular version in the U.S. (£42,350 in the UK).
