The Porsche Cayenne will be on offer in both, ICE and Electric guises for the foreseeable future

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne EV has been spotted yet again, this time demonstrating its capabilities in snow. This is interesting since Porsche expressed its intentions to delay some of its upcoming EVs due to low demand. For this reason, it said last year that it would keep some of its ICE models on sale for longer than previously planned. As a consequence, its planned K1 three-row SUV saw a delay in development.

These images have been sourced courtesy of Autoevolution. These capture the large SUV wearing a thick camouflage. Having first surfaced back in April last year, we still don’t have clear pictures of the exterior styling. Note that the Cayenne was always supposed to come with ICE and Electric powertrains. However, the ICE prototype has not been spotted just yet. Still, the station wagon-like silhouette certainly points to a more modern and unique design language.

The large electric SUV will use the familiar PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture which underpins the Audi A6 e-tron and Porsche Macan EV. However, it will be a stretched version of that. Moreover, it remains unclear which specifications the German performance car maker decides to opt for. There are certainly multiple options going by its siblings.

For instance, the lower trims of the 2026 Porsche Cayenne EV can borrow powertrains from the mid- or high-spec Macan EVs which means a power figure between 509 hp (380 kW) and 630 hp (470 kW). Nevertheless, the mind-boggling end of the spectrum can take inspiration from the Taycan Turbo GT which makes over 1,000 hp (760 kW). This will help it compete against the Tesla Model X Plaid.
