Pravaig has launched the Defy electric SUV for the Indian market at Rs 39.50 lakh, ex-showroom (approx $48,500 USD). The brand was introduced in 2011 with the support of a France-based company Eren group. Back then, it used to make off-road buggies. Pravaig has been manufacturing batteries for a decade now and will use in-house batteries for its EVs. Bookings for the Defy have started at Rs 51,000 online. The deliveries of this EV are slated to commence in the second half of 2023.

Pravaig Defy Electric SUV – Specs
The EV has a huge 90.9 kWh 5-module Lithium-ion battery pack that power two electric motors to set up an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. It is based on a dedicated skateboard architecture that allows the battery to be positioned in the middle liberating acres of space for the luggage compartment and cabin for the passengers.
The max power and torque stand at 402 hp and 620 Nm respectively and Pravaig claims a real-world driving range of around 500 km. The electric SUV can be charged using a 7.2 kW AC home charger or a 150 kW DC fast charger for which Pravaig has partnered with various charging companies in India. There are 18-inch wheels with optional “aero covers” for range enhancement.

Defy is a large electric SUV that is 4.94 m in length and has a wheelbase of 3.03 m. Its skateboard architecture allows this amount of wheelbase along with 680 litres of boot space. What would offer peace of mind to the customers is its 234 mm ground clearance, essentially indicating that you could take it anywhere.
